BODY BLACK

PHOTOGRAPH | 2013

Even innocent and unthreatening representations such as a photograph of graphite, when combined with the viewer’s prejudice, are capable of generating negative reception of an object, and lead to assigning wrong features to it. Photographs from the Black Body series have been taken during my work on drawings which present the deformed body. Entering the inside of the drawing brings to mind an angiographic test, which allows the imaging of fragments of living tissues in great magnification. But the viewers frequently identify the drawings with astronomical objects or pathogenic microorganisms.
