Litery napisane przez trzyletnią Różę, tworzą wyraz blueproof. Są to pierwsze próby pisania dziecka. Z czasem jej ręka będzie coraz sprawniejsza, nauczy się czytać i pójdzie do szkoły. Przyswoi zasady i definicje, pozna dyscyplinę generowaną przez instytucję. Będzie się kształtować według zakazów i nakazów. Spotka się z rygorem beztroskiej wiedzy, gdzie twarde reguły gry będą jednoznaczne. Tak, że wstawiając wytyczne do wzoru, otrzymamy konkretną, zawsze jedną i tę samą odpowiedź.

Work was created for The Parallax exhibition, marking the opening of a new building of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. The project is also the beginning of a cultural exchange between Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and the Chelsea College of Arts.

The Parallax reveals that the main function of artistic education is a transfer and development of views, artistic approaches, methods and technologies. Works by the artists who decided to participate in the project give both sides space for discussion. They are also an impulse for investigating the role and function of artistic education today.

​The exchange programmes appeared in the moment crucial for the future of the schools involved in the project. For the Chelsea College of Arts, whose history dates back to 1895, 2015 was the tenth anniversary of their moving to a new building, located in Milbank in Central London. This was then a good time for recapitulations adn introducing further changes and updates. The new building of the Academy of Fine Arts is, next to the newly finished Polish Radio Orchestra’s concert hall and the Museum of Silesia, an element of the process of revitalisation through the development of cultural infrastructure that Katowice is currently undergoing. 2015 was a turning point in the history of both institutions that made them more inclined to focus on and look deep into themselves, but also to open and draw from different cultural and artistic traditions. The works showed at the exhibition were directly connected with understanding an academy of fine arts as a place of scientific studies; they included films devoted to the issue of understanding art as well as activities connected with the political debate.

Praca zaprojektowana na wystawę Parallax, otwierająca działaność nowego budynku Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Katowicach. Projekt jest jednocześnie początkiem wymiany kulturowej pomiędzy ASP Katowice, a Chelsea College of Arts. 

Parallax odkrywa, że podstawową funkcją szkoły artystycznej jest dyskurs jako wymiana i rozwój poglądów, postaw twórczych, metod i technologii. Prace artystów, którzy odpowiedzieli na zaproszenie do projektu, otwierają nowy rozdział w dyskusji, dając impuls do zgłębiania roli i funkcji szkoły artystycznej obecnie.

Wystawa pojawiła się w kluczowym momencie dla przyszłości obydwu instytucji. Dla Chelsea College of Arts, którego historia sięga 1895 roku, rok 2015 wyznacza okrągłą rocznicę 10-lecia zmiany siedziby na obecną, zlokalizowaną w Millibank w centrum Londynu. ASP natomiast, obok nowopowstałych obiektów NOSPR i Muzeum Śląskiego, wpisuje się w proces rewitalizacji miasta poprzez rozwój infrastruktury w dziedzinie kultury. Rok 2015 jest momentem przełomowym dla obydwu instytucji, momentem, który skłania do refleksji i spojrzenia zarówno wstecz, jak i w przyszłość. Moment zwrotny w historii skłania do skupienia, spojrzenia w głąb, do środka, jednak każda z instytucji z ciekawością otwiera się również na zewnątrz, stara się czerpać z innych tradycji i kręgów artystycznych i kulturowych. Wśród prac brytyjskich artystów zobaczymy prace bezpośrednio odnoszące się do kontekstu akademii sztuki traktowanej jako przestrzeni służącej nauce, filmy nawiązujące do kwestii rozumienia i przekładu, tłumaczenia, a także prace zaangażowane w debatę polityczną.
